![]() ![]() Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have been working in this genre for years so it came as no surprise to find clean cut hack-and-slash action right from the beginning. It’s an interesting contrast and you can see why they’ve stuck with the formula for so long, because Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate Edition looks as great as it plays. ![]() But for those of us in the know, the graphics on display in the menus and cutscenes are all part of the genre, and in some ways make the ingame graphics even better. When it comes to visuals, our friends across the ditch in Japan have a completely different approach compared to what’s become the norm for western developers and so at first glance it’s easy to pass it off as simple, or basic. It’s the fifth instalment in the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors crossover series and developed/published by the same developers Omega Force and Koei Tecmo. It wasn’t until I launched into Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate Edition that the fun memories flowed back and I remembered my love for the franchise. ![]() It’s been a long time since I last invested a chunk of time into a Warriors Orochi game, and I’m not really sure why, because I’ve always loved a good hack-and-slash, especially one that incorporates multiple games, gods, time travel, and so much more.
